Associate professor Dr.-Ing. habil. Abdallah Nassour
Chair of Waste and Material Flow Management University of Rostock, Germany
University education as main element for the development and implementation of sustainable waste management
Summary of Session
Waste management has evolved in recent years, especially in developed countries, by moving from waste landfilling to waste management (circular economy). Behind this was a lot of “know-how” and many political, technical, and financial measures. Despite the achieved situation, there is still a need to increase the efficiency of technical solutions and secure the necessary financial resources. Many countries have recognized the importance of sustainable waste management and strive to find international cooperation in order to obtain advanced “know-how”. University and vocational training is an important component of professional training for managers and technicians.
